We're trying to make all our xmas gifts this year, and I've been making paint by number kits for all my 6mo-old's playgroup friends. They've been surprisingly easy and the results have been really cool. I would suggest, however, that you purchase the colors first (I've been using your standard watercolor sets, and printing on watercolor paper), make a Photoshop swatch pallette based on those colors, then use that pallette when indexing the colors. I found it was a lot easier than trying to find the colors afterward. Of course, you need to use a photo with colors similar to whatever set of paints you use.Posted by kimnlove on November 13, 2006 at 10:18:56 Pacific Time
